About
Author Teleseminars is a community that brings you the best and brightest authors and business experts. It’s a place where thought leaders come to spread their message and promote their latest books. Created by Elizabeth Marshall, Author Teleseminars officially launched with a two-call series promoting Seth Godin’s book, The Dip, in June of 2007. Since then, we’ve been proud to design and host virtual book tours with a number of bestselling authors, including Dan Roam, Michael Port, Howard Behar (former Starbucks president) and many others.
Although Author Teleseminars officially started in 2007, it was created long before that. It’s the culmination of many projects and many experiences stretching back to 2004 – the perfect synthesis of the experience that Elizabeth acquired in both designing online book launches and creating large-scale teleseminar series and events for her consulting clients. As a result, Author Teleseminar is able to design unique, creative and remarkable virtual book tours that go beyond the typical teleseminar models and leverage collaboration between the featured author and a small panel of experts as a powerful way to spread an author’s message.
The mission of Author Teleseminars is simple; we aspire to:
- Effectively spread the message of our authors and experts far and wide through our live teleseminars, recorded calls and podcasts, which includes the promotion and sale of books
- Provide practical strategies, sound business advice and inspiration to as many entrepreneurs, small business owners and professionals as possible through our free calls and recordings
So that Author Teleseminars can serve as many listeners and fans as possible, we host virtual book tours that you access from anywhere and that you can enjoy without spending a dime. That means the author and/or the author’s publisher is graciously funding the cost of the virtual book tour so that you can enjoy the calls and recordings for free!
As an Author Teleseminars member, you can enjoy our calls via live teleseminar (a.k.a. conference calls) or choose to listen to the recorded MP3 version at a later date. If you miss a call or want to download the recording, you can always visit the Author Teleseminars Recording Library to access the streaming or download links.
About the Team
Elizabeth Marshall, Host and Founder
Elizabeth is the co-author of The Contrarian Effect: Why It Pays (Big) to Take the Typical Sales Advice and Do the Opposite (Wiley, Sept 08), a book she co-wrote with Michael Port, bestselling author of Book Yourself Solid and Beyond Booked Solid. Since 2006, Elizabeth has served as Director of Sales for Michael Port Companies and has led teleseminars, coaching programs and workshops with Michael.
Known as the Marketing Marshall, Elizabeth works with business experts, authors and entrepreneurs to help them attract clients, spread their message and sell their books. As an author and speaker, Elizabeth has first-hand experience and expertise at finding the fastest, easiest and most effective ways to sell books, attract clients and create a following.
In 2007, she founded AuthorTeleseminars.com and has launched virtual book tours for clients such as Seth Godin, Michael Port and Howard Behar (former Starbucks President) and hosted business experts, such as Keith Ferrazzi, Tim Ferriss, David Allen and Tim Sanders.
Before launching her coaching and consulting practice, Elizabeth had a successful career in sales and recruiting. While working for the nationally recognized Merritt, Hawkins and Associates, she won the award for Research Recruiter of the Month multiple times.
Elizabeth holds an undergrad degree in music from Baylor University, a master’s degree from Yale University. She received coach training from Coach University. When she’s not working with clients, she enjoys practicing yoga, watching NBA games and hanging out with Barkley, her Australian Shepherd.
Amber Miller, Operations Manager
Amber is a wonderful asset to Author Teleseminars! She not only handles “all things HTML” but she successfully manages and tracks all the technical details that are necessary to orchestrate a great book tour, which includes setting up autoresponders, editing audios, creating landing pages and making sure that no detail is overlooked.
When she is not working with Author Teleseminars, Amber runs Smart To Finish, her own Virtual Assistance company that she started back in 2004 after taking a “leap of Faith” and leaving her cushy corporate job as a Network Administrator. She knew she was being called to a higher purpose - and that purpose was to run her own business and provide top-notch online support to busy Coaches and Internet Entrepreneurs.
Amber has been a featured guest speaker on the Power of Delegating and is also the National Training Coordinator for Practice Pay Solutions. Her experience includes office management, executive assistance, network administration and marketing. Amber has extensive training in both computer hardware and software.
